My favorite is the “subservient chicken” who does whatever you want him to do — within reason. I asked him to flash a gang sign, and he wagged a “no-no” finger at me. And surprisingly, he didn’t know how to do the hokey-pokey. Playing with the chicken was fun, but there was one slight problem of many entertaining advertising spots: I didn’t remember what the product was. Oh, yeah. Burger King.
The Old Spice man campaign is one of the top 20, of course. That was another highly interactive campaign. I see the spot is back on the air now, but I don’t think the handsome black man is interactive anymore. Dang. Here’s his penultimate spot, talking to his daughter:
